What each figure shows, and what is illustration.
Figure 01 — the inspiral
The interactive figure on the home page follows a secondary supermassive black hole as it spirals toward the primary in a post-merger galaxy. The orbit comes from a semi-analytic simulation that is part of ongoing work; the results are preliminary and not yet published.
- From the simulation: the black holes’ positions, masses and jet powers, the readouts and the two history plots.
- Illustrative: the host-galaxy light, the accretion-disk glyphs, and the jets’ length, direction and texture. Jet brightness follows the simulated jet power; a jet that is switched off is drawn as off.
- The figure stops where the simulated inspiral stops; no black-hole merger is shown.
Other figures
- The three research-highlight drawings on the home page are concept illustrations, not data or observations.
- The synchrotron spectra on the Research page are textbook curves in arbitrary units, not results of the project.

Build
Built with Astro and hand-written CSS, and hosted on GitHub Pages. Type is set in system fonts (Arial/Helvetica, Georgia and the system monospace). The site uses no analytics, trackers or cookies. The figure never plays automatically and respects reduced-motion settings.
